As a small child I remember the day I saw my first Hostess cupcake. It was very different from what I was used to. Up until then I had only tasted home made cakes that my grand-mother made, God rest her soul. I thought she made the best cakes in the world. As great as they were, I could never have a whole one to myself, it was sliced into pieces and shared with my other siblings. The thought of having my own individual cakes, not just one but two that I could enjoy all by myself and not have to share with anyone was the best thing since sliced bread. The sight of those two chocolate cupcakes, with chocolate icing, covered with seven squiggles of vanilla icing was genius. All the good things you like as a kid all rolled up into one, but even better still was the vanilla creme filling. If you ever wondered what heaven must be like, for a six year old kid in the 50's, this was it. I have been hooked on cupcakes since I had my first Hostess, and I have at least one every day. i never saw a cupcake that I didn't like, no matter what flavor, it's still a cupcake. I believe the world would be a better place, if we all had a cupcake everyday!
